Trade Twist? Kysaiah Pickett Fuels Fremantle Rumors with Social Media Activity!

Melbourne goal sneak Kysaiah Pickett has reignited trade rumours, after liking social media posts linking him to the Fremantle Dockers.

The young forward has been linked to a trade to WA, but nothing came of it in the 2024 off season.

At the end of Melbourne’s disappointing 2024 campaign, Pickett reportedly told Demons coach Simon Goodwin that he was feeling homesick.

But, when a trade could not be completed, the noise seemed to have died down.

However, his most recent move has brought the speculation back to life.

On Friday, the 23-year-old liked a comment on a Fremantle fan Facebook group, which alluded to a ploy to land Pickett at the club next season, following the signing of his cousin Isiah Dudley.

His interest in a move west has also been linked to the recent moves of friends Shai Bolton and Quinton Narkle, who left Richmond and Port Adelaide respectively to head to WA in the trade period.

“He is Kozzy Pickett’s cousin. Bolton and (Quinton) Narkle are Kozzy’s best mates. All part of the plan baby!” a post from the Facebook group said.

Earlier, the small forward liked an Instagram post from another Fremantle fan account, alluding to his interest in joining the Dockers.

According to The West Australian, the Dockers have prioritised their push to sign Pickett in 2025.

Dockers young star Caleb Serong has also heaped praise on Pickett, ahead of their clash against the AFL’s INdigenous All Stars representative side next month.

Pickett will pull on the jumper for the All Stars, with the match scheduled to be played at Fremantle’s home ground, Optus Oval, on February 15.

“He’s an incredible player and a special player,” Serong said ahead of the All Stars game.

“It’s something that we’re really proud of, to be a club and place that players want to come to, but we don’t see it from that point-of-view.

“We’ve got a lot of guys that just love coming to work, love being a part of what we’re building and if that extends out to other players at other clubs seeing that as a place they want to come to, then that’s amazing.”
