Man City reject James McAtee loan offer as Bayer Leverkusen turn focus to Aston Villa attacker?

Man City Reject McAtee Loan Offer; Leverkusen Turn to Buendia

Manchester City have rejected a loan offer from Bayer Leverkusen for promising young midfielder James McAtee. The German club was keen on securing the 22-year-old’s services for the remainder of the season, but City manager Pep Guardiola has decided to keep the talented youngster at the Etihad Stadium.

McAtee, who spent last season on loan at Sheffield United, has struggled for regular playing time this season. He has made just six Premier League appearances, failing to start any of them. Despite this, Guardiola believes McAtee still has a role to play in his squad and is keen to keep him around for the second half of the campaign.

With the McAtee deal falling through, Leverkusen have quickly turned their attention to Aston Villa’s Emiliano Buendia. The Bundesliga club has already reached an agreement with Villa to sign the Argentine attacker on loan with an option to make the move permanent at the end of the season. Buendia is now set to undergo a medical before completing his move to Germany.

The move for Buendia comes as a blow to McAtee, who was reportedly keen on joining Leverkusen. The 22-year-old will now have to fight for his place in Guardiola’s squad, while Buendia will be hoping to reignite his career in the Bundesliga.
