Slipknot percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan has warned fans to temper their expectations for the long-awaited release of Look Outside Your Window, an album recorded during the All Hope Is Gone sessions.
In an interview with Knotfest.com, Clown emphasized that Look Outside Your Window is not a traditional Slipknot record. He explained that it was a separate project undertaken by a smaller group of band members, including Corey Taylor, Sid Wilson, and Jim Root, during breaks from the main recording sessions.
Clown described the album’s sound as experimental and different from Slipknot’s signature style, hinting at a more introspective and perhaps even melancholic vibe. He acknowledged that some fans might be disappointed if they expect a typical Slipknot album, stating, “If any of that music could have been Slipknot, it would’ve been brought down [to the studio].”
While the exact release date for Look Outside Your Window remains uncertain, Clown confirmed that he has recently completed his work on the album and handed it over to management for release. This news has generated excitement among fans who have been eagerly anticipating the album’s arrival for years.
However, Clown’s words of caution serve as a reminder that Look Outside Your Window is likely to be a unique and unexpected offering from the band, rather than a continuation of their established sound.
