Following victories over Troy and Illinois, Kentucky, in its first season under head coach Mark Pope, is now on its way. Kentucky is progressing past the second weekend for the first time since 2019.

Koby Bream, a transfer from Dayton, led the squad with 23 points and six rebounds, followed by Otega Oweh, a transfer from Oklahoma, with 15 points and Lamont Butler, a transfer from San Diego State, with 14 points. Amari Williams, a transfer from Drexel, had eight points, ten rebounds, and three blocks, demonstrating how the transfers are helping Kentucky greatly. Kentucky now takes on Tennessee, an SEC rival. Kentucky leads Tennessee 2-0 this season; a third victory would advance the Wildcats to the Elite Eight.
