Despite firing Dennis Allen in early November, the New Orleans Saints are the final NFL team with a head coaching vacancy. The Saints were thought to be in the running for elite coaching talent like Aaron Glenn, but they will probably have to look far and wide after Mike McCarthy appeared to decline the position.
Andrew Hawkins, a six-year NFL wide receiver, was not impressed by the Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator, who has emerged as the leading candidate to fill the position.
They’ve reached a point. Hawkins stated on Wednesday’s NFL Live broadcast on ESPN that “beggars can’t be choosers.”
Moore will get the opportunity to see the Saints’ facilities because the Eagles are the official home team in the Super Bowl, according to Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports.
“The Eagles are the official home team in the Super Bowl, which is being played in New Orleans, so as Jones points out, Moore will actually be in the Saints’ facilities next week,” Jared Dubin of CBS Sports noted. But according to league regulations, the Saints are not allowed to get in touch with him again until after the Super Bowl, and his employment cannot be formally announced until after the game.
