In a recent media briefing, HoverLab and relatives of the late actress Kim Sae-ron reportedly presented an audio clip in which she seemingly confessed to dating actor Kim Soo Hyun during their high school years. The recording has since sparked controversy.
Despite these claims, Kim Soo Hyun and his management company, GOLDMEDALIST, have repeatedly denied any such relationship. His legal representatives at LKB & Partners have condemned the new claims, asserting that the voice recording in question is not genuine but artificially produced using AI technology.
The law firm further stated that the person behind the audio recording is a known fraud who previously tried to deceive GOLDMEDALIST with another fabricated tape. That earlier clip allegedly featured Kim Sae-ron making complimentary remarks about Kim Soo Hyun.
As reported by Soompi, the legal team released a statement explaining, “At the press conference, HoverLab claimed possession of an audio file involving the late Kim Sae-ron. However, this recording is entirely artificial. GOLDMEDALIST has determined that it was created using AI or related technologies.”
The firm continued by saying that the person who shared the audio with HoverLab had earlier approached them with a similar recording, demanding payment in return. This clip had been doctored to mimic Kim Sae-ron’s voice, falsely portraying her as speaking positively about Kim Soo Hyun.
Additionally, the legal team emphasized that the individual behind the audio has no actual connection to Kim Sae-ron. They stated that this person previously tried to exploit the agency by presenting false narratives and had now seemingly collaborated with HoverLab to release misleading content.
Currently, the voice clip is undergoing forensic analysis by audio experts. Once the evaluation is completed, Kim Soo Hyun’s legal team plans to share the results publicly to set the record straight.
Finally, the law firm denounced the entire press conference as a fabricated stunt by HoverLab, which is already facing multiple legal challenges related to stalking, slander, digital misconduct, and tampering with evidence. They accused HoverLab of deliberately trying to tarnish Kim Soo Hyun’s public image and confirmed that they are initiating legal action for defamation a and harassment.
