Just after Santander Sets in Blue Jays Sparks up new deal with 2 More Hitters – making game-changer moves

The Toronto Blue Jays had a dismal 2024 season, finishing last in the American League East with a 74-88 record.

Following postseason appearances in 2022 and 2023, the Blue Jays finished with their first losing record since 2019 and missed the playoffs.

The Blue Jays’ offseason began badly, missing out on free agents Juan Soto, Corbin Burnes, and Roki Sasaki, but is picking up with the addition of Anthony Santander.

While acquiring Santander is a nice start, the Blue Jays intend to add additional talent before the start of the 2025 season.

“The Blue Jays have expressed interest in Pete Alonso and Jurickson Profar, per Mark Feinsand,” B/R Walk-Off wrote on X.

The Blue Jays proved they have money to spend.

Alonso has spent all six seasons of his MLB career with the New York Mets.

Alonso batted in each of the 162 games in 2024.240 with 34 home runs, 88 RBI, and a.788 OPS.

Profar made his MLB debut with the Texas Rangers in 2012 and has since played for four different organizations over the course of 11 seasons.

Profar played 158 games for the San Diego Padres in 2024, batting.280 with 24 home runs, 85 RBIs, and an OPS of.839.

Either player would strengthen the Blue Jays’ squad, and they will be a club to watch as the 2025 season approaches.
