Jon Heyman blatantly calls out Toronto Blue Jays superstar Vladimir Guerrero Jr

Toronto Blue Jays superstar Vladimir Guerrero Jr has been quite a bit of backlash since news broke that he turned down a $500 million contract prior to Spring Training.

Last week it came out that Guerrero was offered a 14 year, $500 million contract from the Blue Jays which included a lot of deferred money which Guerrero was not interested in.
MLB insider Ken Rosenthal was the one that broke the news regarding Guerrero’s offer from the Blue Jays which he rejected and on the New York Post Sports show, Jon Heyman gave his opinion on the entire situation.
Jon Heyman believe that Vladimir Guerrero Jr is no worth $500 million #bluejays #mlb
Heyman made it clear that he believes that $500 million from Guerrero who plays first place is way too much money and let alone raising the number, Heyman believes the Blue Jays should not have offered him that much to begin with.
They’ve told Ken Rosenthal they will stay for 500; I mean, I guess, 500 would be a great deal, but why put a limit on it? I think he’s making a mistake, yeah, and then the question becomes, if the Blue Jays were willing to do something in the $450 million range for 14 years again. It’s not my money, John; I would say that’s probably a little too much for a guy who plays first base. » -Heyman
While Guerrero is an incredible hitter, most believe do not think that just because Juan Soto signed the largest contract in MLB history, that does not mean that Guerrero is all of a sudden worth almost just as much.
Reportedly, Juan Soto bagged a record-breaking $765 million contract with the New York Mets for 15 years, so now even the Toronto Blue Jays’ Dominican star was looking forward to a similar deal -TOI Sports
When looking at the full picture it is hard not to see see both sides but the fact of the matter is that if the Blue Jays truly do want to keep Guerrero in Toronto, they will need to over pay.
