FIA Clears investigation on lando Norris’s car

FIA Clears McLaren and Lando Norris After Miami Grand Prix Investigations

Following the 2025 Miami Grand Prix, the FIA conducted thorough investigations into McLaren’s MCL39, particularly focusing on the rear brake system and tyre cooling mechanisms. These inquiries were prompted by suspicions from rival teams regarding McLaren’s impressive performance, notably their 1-2 finish in Miami. However, after extensive inspections, the FIA confirmed that McLaren’s car complied with all technical regulations, finding no evidence of illegal modifications or systems.

The scrutiny intensified due to allegations that McLaren might be using unconventional methods, such as a “water trick,” to cool their tyres and gain a competitive edge. Despite these claims, the FIA’s investigation found no irregularities in McLaren’s tyre management systems. The team was officially cleared of any wrongdoing, reaffirming the legality of their car’s design and performance.

In addition to the technical inspections, McLaren faced a separate issue involving Lando Norris during the Miami Grand Prix practice sessions. Norris reported unusual noises from his cockpit, which were later identified as tools inadvertently left inside the car. Upon returning to the pits, the tools were removed, and the incident was reported to the FIA. The stewards acknowledged the team’s immediate response and issued an official warning to McLaren for releasing the car in an unsafe condition, without imposing further penalties.

McLaren’s team principal, Andrea Stella, addressed the situation, emphasizing the team’s commitment to adhering to FIA regulations and maintaining transparency. He highlighted the importance of rigorous checks and the team’s proactive approach in rectifying the oversight promptly. Stella also reiterated McLaren’s dedication to fair competition and continuous improvement.

The FIA’s clearance of McLaren and Norris underscores the governing body’s commitment to ensuring compliance and fairness in Formula 1. It also reflects the rigorous standards teams are held to and the importance of swift corrective actions when issues arise. As the season progresses, McLaren’s focus remains on performance and upholding the integrity of the sport.

Looking ahead, McLaren aims to build on their strong performance in Miami, with both drivers, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, poised to continue competing at the highest level. The team’s adherence to regulations and prompt handling of incidents demonstrate their professionalism and dedication to excellence in Formula 1.
