New Michigan football quarterback Bryce Underwood started making the rounds while the school was on spring break, with a trip to Los Angeles, where he attended a Los Angeles Lakers game and met superstar LeBron James. James, an Akron native, is a huge Ohio State fan, but Underwood made sure that he knew he wasn’t going to take it easy on the Buckeyes during his tenure with the Wolverines.
Underwood appeared on The Rich Eisen Show on Wednesday and when it came to the rivalry, the former five-star and No. 1 overall recruit in the country didn’t mince words.
“Before this all started, just have to let you know, I go to Michigan,” Underwood said. “He was like, ‘Oh yeah, yeah.’ ‘It’s over for O-State, Ohio State.'”
According to Underwood, James took it all in good spirits.
“He said, you know, Ohio State is home,” Underwood said. “I’m like, yeah, it’s gonna — yeah. He laughed it off a little bit. And so, yeah, then we continued to have a conversation.”
