Aidan Hutchinson, a defensive end for the Detroit Lions, is set to make a significant advancement in 2024 following two excellent seasons in the NFL. Furthermore, according to former All-Pro edge rusher J.J. Watt, the Michigan third-year star can challenge for a sack title very soon.

While attending Super Bowl 58 in Las Vegas, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press chatted with the current CBS analyst and also managed to catch up with former Lions defensive lineman Michael Brockers.

Like many around the Lions, Watt feels that Detroit has to combine Hutchinson with another explosive pass-rusher.

Watt informed the Free Press that “Aidan’s going to get double-teamed and chipped.” When you’re a top pass rusher in this league, that’s just the way things work. However, you truly begin to assist your team when you are able to find someone on the opposing side who can profit from the one-on-ones.

Regarding Hutchinson’s prospects of becoming a dominant player at his position in 2024, Watt appears to be a believer.

Watt remarked of Hutchinson’s future potential, “I don’t see why not.” “I believe he possesses the necessary skill set, drive, and work ethic. I don’t see any reason why he wouldn’t be. In addition, I believe it’s fantastic to see him get drafted in Detroit alongside Dan Campbell and all of the subsequent developments. That’s one of those circumstances where everything just fits and makes sense.

The remaining notes for today are as follows:

I don’t know about you, but this tweet makes me think that general manager of the Lions Brad Holmes is about to cook.

  • The Super Bowl and Amon-Ra’s Pro Bowl experience are discussed in the most recent episode of the St. Brown Brothers podcast.
  • Is it possible that the Lions may try to sign cornerback L’Jarius Sneed? According to one Bleacher Report analyst, yes.
  • Would Brad Holmes make a trade for Khalil Mack, an edge rusher for the Los Angeles Chargers? It was one of the moves Brad Spielberger of PFF predicted would upend the offseason. I’m not sure whether I would make this trade because Mack will have a significant cap cost in 2024.
