Actress Jo Bo Ah recently addressed the status of her delayed K-Drama Knock Off during an interview held to celebrate the release of her latest Netflix series, Dear Hongrang. The actress opened up briefly about the situation surrounding Knock Off, which had initially been part of Disney+’s 2025 lineup before it was suddenly postponed.
The indefinite postponement of Knock Off was largely due to the controversy involving Jo Bo Ah’s co-star, Kim Soo Hyun, and the late actress Kim Sae Ron. The scandal has overshadowed the show, leading to uncertainty about whether it will ever be released. Despite this, no official statement has clarified the future of the project.
Jo Bo Ah expressed great sensitivity when discussing the halted drama, noting that she chose her words carefully to avoid causing any unintended harm. While she refrained from going into detail, she emphasized the dedication of the cast and crew and voiced her belief that their efforts would eventually be recognized.
The actress also revealed that she missed her honeymoon because of filming for Knock Off, though she downplayed the sacrifice when asked about it. She gave a brief response, simply stating that she currently has no plans to take a honeymoon trip.
Knock Off had generated significant attention due to its large-scale production, with a reported budget of ₩60 billion KRW (approximately $42 million USD). Much of the spotlight was on Kim Soo Hyun, whose talent fee alone reportedly amounted to ₩9 billion KRW (around $6.29 million USD).
Due to the postponement of the drama, Kim Soo Hyun could face a staggering financial penalty, estimated to exceed $100 million USD. The controversy and halted release have raised concerns about the fate of the show and its impact on everyone involved.
