Fulham's on-loan Chelsea forward Armando Broja

Marco Silva is confident on loan. Armando Broja, a Chelsea striker, will play for Fulham this season, but he insists on earning a position in the starting lineup.

The 22-year-old moved to Craven Cottage on deadline day to secure more regular football, with Raul Jimenez’s injury freeing up a space in the frontline for him.

But, so far, Rodrigo Muniz has been picked to lead the line, and he rewarded his manager’s faith with a brace as the Cottagers defeated Bournemouth at the weekend.

Broja has only appeared as a substitute twice since his loan swap, totaling 32 minutes, and he has yet to take a shot on goal for his new team.

Despite the fact that Fulham might face a £4 million cost if Broja is not picked, Silva is not in a hurry to select the Albanian and claims to have already spoken with the forward about the matter.

When asked if Broja should expect competition for a place in the team, the Fulham manager responded: “He is aware of that. I spoke with him yesterday about the situation, and this is the Premier League.

‘He has a lot of promise, and we believe in him. We also looked at him last summer.

‘He understands that there will be competition for positions. He only arrived last week, before the Burnley game.

‘The striker who played, Muniz, scored a crucial goal. It doesn’t matter if he’s under contract or on loan.

Football players are not stupid. They are capable of understanding judgments. One strategy to deal with the problem is to work hard and demonstrate that they are better than the other.

Michail Antonio says’most loathed guy’ in the Premier League will ‘be beaten up’.

Despite Arsenal’s joint-largest away league win, Paul Merson is’sad’ and ‘frustrated’.

Paul Scholes names Arsenal player who’surprised’ him in West Ham victory.

After sitting out the first two, he must now start nine of Fulham’s remaining 14 Premier League games.

Broja may have played more often if he had stayed at Chelsea, who were without a designated striker in the FA Cup against Aston Villa last week, despite the forward having played 13 Premier League games for the Blues in the first half of the season.
