Lando Norris slammed for lingering flaw as Piastri proves he’s already moved past it

The 2025 Formula 1 calendar showcases a meticulously structured sequence of Grand Prix events, beginning with the Australian Grand Prix from March 14 to 16 and continuing across global circuits including China, Japan, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia. Each race spans a weekend, with qualifying and practice rounds leading into the main event on Sundays. The mid-season highlights feature iconic venues like Monaco, Silverstone, and Spa-Francorchamps, concluding with a high-stakes finale in Abu Dhabi from December 5 to 7.

McLaren Racing has surged ahead in the Constructors’ Championship, amassing 246 points, far surpassing Mercedes-AMG Petronas (141 points) and Red Bull Racing (105 points). Their dominance is primarily driven by their drivers’ extraordinary consistency and a car setup optimized for varying track demands. This sharp contrast in points illustrates McLaren’s strategic mastery and superior pace in the current season.

On the individual front, Oscar Piastri leads the Drivers’ Championship with 131 points, closely trailed by teammate Lando Norris with 115, while Max Verstappen remains in pursuit with 99. Piastri’s ascendancy began with his pole-to-win performance in China and carried through victories in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and Miami, showcasing both his adaptability and calm under pressure. Norris, while demonstrating raw speed, has faced critiques over tactical errors that have hindered his title bid.

Veteran analyst Christian Danner believes that while Norris may edge Piastri in outright speed, his inability to minimize errors—evident during his failed overtake in Miami—continues to cost him vital points. Danner emphasized that Piastri has “overcome” the kind of mistakes Norris still commits, referencing the strategic misstep that saw Norris drop from second to sixth in Miami after misjudging an overtaking opportunity on Verstappen.

The dynamics between McLaren’s star drivers have become a focal point of the 2025 season. Piastri’s calculated precision contrasts with Norris’ aggressive racecraft, occasionally yielding costly consequences. Their rivalry not only intensifies the internal team drama but also adds intrigue to an evolving title race, where experience, strategy, and discipline are proving just as decisive as speed on track.
