EXCITING!! Doris Day’s Grandson Ryan Melcher Expecting First Baby with Wife Brittney: ‘Couldn’t Be More Excited’

Doris Day’s grandson, Ryan Melcher, is going to be a father!

On Monday, August 26, the late actress and singer’s only grandson announced that he and his wife Brittney Melcher are expecting their first child together by posting a combined video on their Instagram accounts.

The black and white footage shows Ryan, 41, and Brittney hugging outside before Brittney appears to tell her family about the baby.

The video, which was set to an instrumental version of The Beatles’ classic “Here Comes The Sun” by Simon Martin Perkins, depicted the responses of other loved ones as they were informed of the wonderful baby news.

The footage next showed Brittney, an interior designer in Carmel and Pebble Beach, holding a snapshot of her baby scans in front of her pregnancy bump.

She and Ryan, the top Sotheby’s International Realty agent in Carmel-by-the-Sea, then posed together in another photo while he carried the baby scan, and a follow-up shot showed the couple staring at each other and clutching a baby onesie.

“Baby Melcher due February and we couldn’t be more excited for this next chapter 🤍,” the image’s caption read.

“Ahhhh I am so happy for you!!!! 💕💕💕,” one person said, while another added, “omg!!!!!.” Baby daughter!!! I’m so excited for you all!! “I’m excited to meet her 🥹💖.”

Brittney announced the news on Instagram Stories, sharing two photographs that included a throwback to her and Ryan’s wedding at Lambert’s Cove Inn & Resort near Vineyard Haven, Massachusetts in 2023.

The other shot showed the couple holding their baby sonogram at the same location. Placing the images on top of one another, the couple recreated their wedding position, with Ryan carrying and kissing Brittney.
