Tosin Adarabioyo has been linked with Newcastle United, but Fulham boss Marco Silva has stressed Adarabioyo’s significance to the team’s objectives in the past.

In the build-up to the summer transfer window, the Magpies have been linked to a move for the Fulham center-back. Adarabioyo has the option to discuss a pre-contract with clubs outside of England as his contract at Craven Cottage is set to expire at the end of the season.

Newcastle will have to hold off until this summer when Adarabioyo becomes a free agent before they can make an effort to sign him. According to The Telegraph, Eddie Howe is looking to bolster his center-back options this summer, and Newcastle is reportedly considering signing the defender on a free transfer.

As Adarabioyo approaches the last six months of his contract with Craven Cottage, rumors of a possible transfer have been circulating. After leaving Manchester City for Fulham in 2020, the defender has played in 131 games for the London club.

Silva has already been asked about Adarabioyo’s future at Fulham, and whether or not the club are determined to keep the defender beyond this season. In March the Fulham boss was asked about Adarabioyo’s future as well as Kenny Tete and Bobby De Cordova-Reid, who are also out of contract this summer.

“With Kenny we have an option in his contract,” Silva told reporters in March, via The Athletic. “We keep interacting with his agent. However, we have the choice to activate it whenever we like.

“That’s a different situation than the other two [Adarabioyo and De Cordova-Reid] who are at the end of their contracts. The reality, and what I can inform you today, we are speaking with them and their agents.

“What we try to is to have them with us. Our objective, and what we desire, is to have them with us again next season.”
