Reason why Sebastien Haller, Olivier Giroud ‘rejected January moves to Fulham’

According to reports, Fulham’s January attempts to sign Olivier Giroud of AC Milan and Sebastien Haller of Borussia Dortmund failed.

During the winter transfer window, Armando Broja was brought in by the Cottagers on a season-long loan from Chelsea.

On the last day of the transfer window, the forward traveled a short distance across West London after Fulham emerged victorious in the hunt for his signature.

Although Fulham was able to increase Marco Silva’s offensive options with the addition of Broja, it appears that they were unable to sign two of their other forward targets.Journalist Fabrizio Romano claims that in the last week of January, Fulham made an effort to sign Haller on loan from Dortmund. But in the end, the Ivorian declined the opportunity to finalize a transfer to Craven Cottage because he was hesitant to leave Dortmund in the middle of the season.

In addition, the 29-year-old wanted to keep his attention on the Africa Cup of Nations, where he helped his nation win its third trophy.

The Ivory Coast overcame a late deficit to defeat Nigeria in the championship match on Sunday, taking home the trophy. Haller scored the winning goal in the match.Calciomercato, through Fichajes, claims that Giroud of Milan turned down the chance to sign with Fulham during the January transfer window.

According to the report, Giroud declined a chance to rejoin the Premier League in order to stay in SerieA.Even though Giroud is nearing the end of his career, he still makes an impact on Milan’s offensive game. In 21 Serie A games, he has eight assists and 11 goals.

It’s unclear if the 37-year-old would sign a new contract with the Italian team because he has fewer than six months left on his present one.

In the meantime, Broja must contend with Rodrigo Muniz’s two strong performances to secure a starting spot in the Fulham lineup.

In Fulham’s last two Premier League games, Muniz has scored three goals in lieu of the injured Raul Jimenez.
