After Mason Marchment’s late blindside hit went uncalled, a bloodied Jake McCabe exploded on the refs.

Drama has returned to the hockey field thanks to the National Hockey League’s (NHL) fast-paced activity. After the NHL All-Star game ended, the Dallas Stars and Toronto Maple Leafs squared off. However, Jake McCabe’s outburst at the referees seemed to stir up some controversy surrounding the game.

The Maple Leafs center was taken out of the game by Mason Marchment of the Stars with a devastating late hit. McCabe was attempting to receive a backpass from his teammate when this collision occurred.

It was difficult for the two players to get together. McCabe would become limp and begin to bleed. Remarkably, the referees did not call for this late hit.

The premier player for the Leafs was not happy with this ruling and vented his annoyance at the officials. He would blow up on them when he returned to the sidelines, and he was not thrilled about it. Watch the video below to see his response and X’s hit:

Following the incident, McCabe’s supporters have expressed their support on social media. During this intense time, Sheldon Keefe, the coach of the Leafs, also vented his resentment towards the officials and their decision at the end of the second period.

The Maple Leafs defeat the Stars 5–4 in a thrilling game.

Recently, the Toronto Maple Leafs have been in the news. Auston Matthews excelled once more in the NHL All-Star Game that was recently held on their home field. The Leafs resumed their play at Scotiabank Arena against the Dallas Stars after the festivities.

The game was back and forth, with both teams trading hard hits. In the end, goals from Mitch Marner, John Tavares, William Nylander, and their captain Matthews helped the home team hold their ground and win 5–4.

In the midst of the third period, Marner and Nylander scored goals twenty seconds apart. With just eight minutes left in the last quarter, the team had a 5-3 advantage and were in control of the game.

Ultimately, though, things did become somewhat intriguing when Wyatt Johnston scored in the final seconds to make the score 5-4. Ultimately, the Leafs managed to withstand their rivals and secure a significant victory in front of their home audience.
