The Philadelphia Eagles overcame the Green Bay Packers in Wild Card Round of the NFL playoffs, labouring somewhat to a 22-10 win.

The Eagles had four takeaways in the contest but converted only one of them into points – a Packers fumble on the opening kickoff helping set up a Jalen Hurts touchdown pass to Jahan Dotson three plays later.

Packers quarterback Jordan Love tossed two poor interceptions in the second quarter, while Brandon McManus also missed with a fairly straightforward 38-yard field goal attempt for Green Bay.

Somehow, despite such glaring errors, the Packers trailed by only 10 at the half as a rusty Eagles offense – Saquon Barkley aside – failed to convert their dominance into a greater advantage on the scoreboard.

Green Bay threatened to rally at points in the second half but lost multiple offensive weapons to injury and their challenge soon subsided as a result, Philadelphia safely securing a home tie in the Divisional Round next weekend.

Their opponents will the winner of Monday’s game between the Los Angeles Rams and Minnesota Vikings, after the Washington Commanders beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to set up a Divisional Round match-up against the NFC’s No 1 seed Detroit Lions.

The Rams’ meeting with the Vikings rounds off Wild Card Weekend on Monday night, live on Sky Sports NFL from 1am on Tuesday morning.
