Oklahoma Sooners vs LSU Tigers injury report: Latest updates, news for Week 14

On Saturday night in Baton Rouge, the Oklahoma Sooners and LSU Tigers will both be trying to cap off their seasons on a high note.

Oklahoma is coming off a dominant victory over the Alabama Crimson Tide, in which the defence shut down Jalen Milroe and the Tide’s rushing offence. The Sooners pulled together a strong rushing effort, thanks to the offensive line’s strongest performance of the season.

LSU defeated Vanderbilt 24-17, snapping a three-game losing run. The Tigers have been working to find more balance in their offence, and they did so thanks to a solid rushing effort from Josh Williams, who rushed for 90 yards and two touchdowns. Garrett Nussmeier had his seventh 300-yard throwing game of the season in the win.

Oklahoma has battled injuries all season, but has been able to produce more regular performances in recent weeks. However, they will most likely be without another wide receiver as they travel to face the Tigers.

Let’s look at the initial injury report for Oklahoma vs. LSU.

Jovantae Barnes’ Injury Update
Jovantae Barnes has missed the past two games after hurting his ankle against Maine. He appears to be on schedule to return this week against LSU. With Xavier Robinson’s emergence and Taylor Tatum’s fumbling issues, the Sooners will likely rely on Barnes and true freshman Robinson for running back snaps.

Brenen Thompson’s Injury Update
Brenen Thompson made an important play against Alabama to help convert a third down and demonstrated outstanding toughness as a blocker in the run game.

Andrel Anthony’s Injury Update
Andrel Anthony has not played since Week 1, and it didn’t look that he would be available this season. However, he has been upgraded from out for several months to questionable for Saturday night’s game versus LSU.

Caiden Woullard’s Injury Update
Oklahoma will be missing veteran defensive end Caiden Woullard this weekend after he injured his knee during the win against Alabama. That means Adepoju Adebawore will get more snaps this week against LSU.
