JUST IN: Firefighters send nine crews to battle house blaze

Firefighters from nine stations tackled a blaze that broke out in a roof.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service was called to the semi-detached house on School Street, Stoke-by-Nayland, just before 18:45 GMT on Friday.

Crews used four hose reel jets and an aerial water carrier to extinguish the flames, which was put out by 22:31.

They attended on blue lights from nine stations across Suffolk and Essex, including Ipswich East, Woodbridge and Colchester.

Essex Fire and Rescue Service confirmed one of its crew sustained a minor injury which was dealt with by paramedics.

Fire crews will remain at the scene to “keep a watching brief in case of further hotspot ting” and an investigation will follow, it added.
