BREAKING UPDATE: Matthew Stafford conflicting reports triggered Starbucks fracas at NFL Combine leading to a massive….

Matthew Stafford of the Los Angeles Rams is the subject of intensifying NFL rumors. For a change of pace, however, one piece citing Stafford does not focus on that. As the whispers intensify, it appears that the NFL Insiders who are vying for the first scoop on fresh information are also becoming a little sexy.

The setting of this narrative is well-known. We reported yesterday that Matthew Stafford met with Tom Brady, the NFL broadcaster and minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, on the slopes of Montana. Jordan Schultz, an NFL Insider for Fox Sports, was the first to report on that meeting:

Ian Rapoport, an NFL Insider for NFL Network, swiftly changed that report and provided a different account of what happened:

We referenced both social media reports to support the story that the Las Vegas Raiders seemed to be trying to acquire Stafford through a future trade because we wanted to make sure that our readers were aware of the many aspects that were reported separately. Stafford is currently under contract with the Los Angeles Rams through 2026.

Accuracy comes in very close second in a field where speed is the most prized attribute. Real-time conversations are a major blow to the industry; one NFL Insider essentially stated that the first story was faulty. Jordan Schultz had a strong opportunity of meeting Ian Rapoport this week because nearly all NFL executives, experts, and insiders were there for the multi-day 2025 NFL Scouting Combine.
