Charles Barkley is one NBA legend who frequently takes issue with the Golden State Warriors. Barkley made sure to let basketball fans know today that he never had faith in the Warriors, despite their incredible start to the season. Barkley attacked the Warriors in an Inside the NBA program, referring to its players as “jags,” which translates to “just a guy.” Barkley believes that Steph Curry and a number of other regular players make up the entire squad.
According to Barkley, “Yeah, they’re a fun little team to watch,” “They are difficult to beat when they make threes. I don’t believe in the Warriors, though, as I already stated. However, they’re entertaining to watch and adorable. They have a lot of jags, Steph, and a lot of jags, but they’re just guys, and I don’t think they have enough talent. They lack sufficient star power.
In some ways, Barkley’s critique of the club echoed what many of its supporters were saying when the team didn’t acquire an All-Star in the offseason. Supporters hoped the team would acquire Brandon Ingram, Zach LaVine, Lauri Markkanen, or Paul George. But after the team began with a 12-3 record, everyone’s opinion changed.
