Aston Villa have reportedly abandoned their pursuit of Sevilla defender Loic Bade after the player expressed reluctance to join the club.
Villa had been in advanced talks with Sevilla over a £30 million deal for Bade, but the player’s reluctance to move to Villa Park has led the club to walk away from the deal.
Bade is understood to be keen on a move to a bigger club, and Villa are not willing to meet his demands. The club are now looking at other options to strengthen their defence.
This news comes as a blow to Villa manager Unai Emery, who was keen to sign Bade. The club are now expected to step up their interest in other targets, including Chelsea defender Malang Sarr.
