Fulham may be granted a second opportunity at signing Sebastien Haller from Borussia Dortmund this summer, with a growing agreement something needs to be done about the striker’s predicament with the German club.

That’s according to BILD, who say the ‘very sad chapter’ that Haller has lived with the Bundesliga side could force his exit this summer.

They add that Haller’s days in Dortmund are definitely numbered as he is currently injured and has been forced into wearing a special shoe to try to solve the problem.

It’s the latest outbreak of bad luck for the striker, who is having a season to forget and is now suffering with a third ankle injury of the campaign, all in the same place.

Both he and the club are ‘dissatisfied’ with the situation and all signs are heading towards a goodbye this summer as a result.

Dortmund are particularly anxious to move him on as he earns €8m each year, making him one of the top earners, but has long since been surpassed by Niclas Füllkrug in Dortmund’s attacking ambitions.

Thus, it would be excellent to get him off the books and both Fulham and Besiktas tried to ‘make a deal palatable’ for him in the January transfer window.

The hope is that they come knocking again and a settlement can be hammered out so ‘a very sad chapter’ in the club’s history can be placed into the rearview mirror.

There’s no mention of an asking price at this stage, but it’s unlikely Dortmund would expect Fulham or anybody else to pay anything near to the €31m they gave Ajax two years ago.
