Fulham reportedly “conducted surveys” on 18-year-old German-born Serbian youth international Jan-Carlo Simic, who is now playing for AC Milan.

According to the Italian publication Tutto Mercato Web, Fulham are interested in Jan-Carlo Simic. The Cottagers will face heavy competition from a Premier League team for the 18-year-old defender. And the two English clubs have made bids for the AC Milan defensive wonder.

Who is Jan-Carlo Simić?

Jan-Carlo Simic is one of the most talented young defenders in Serie A. Born in Nurtingen, Germany, he spent the majority of his childhood there before migrating to Italy in August 2022. The teenage prodigy joined Serie A heavyweights AC Milan and has grown tremendously over the last four years.

The 18-year-old may have spent most of his formative years in Germany. But he has selected Serbia as his national team, having played for the country’s under-19 squad since 2022. Simic made his first-team debut for AC Milan in December 2023 and has played six games this season.

The youngster’s success at the Serie A club has piqued the interest of numerous high-profile clubs, including Real Madrid. However, according to the most recent reports, the AC Milan defensive star has been connected with mid-table Premier League clubs Fulham and Bournemouth.

Is London calling?

Fulham’s interest in Jan-Carlo Simic makes sense. The Cottagers are concerned about Tosin Adarabioyo’s long-term future, as the former Manchester City defender is garnering interest from Premier League clubs such as Arsenal and Manchester United. While Fulham bought Calvin Bassey last summer, they still need another centre-back.

Fulham has identified several possibilities, including Evan Ndicka. Simic, on the other hand, is a genuine option, with the 18-year-old capable of serving as a long-term answer for the West London club. The Cottagers have already “conducted surveys” on the teenage possibility, as has Bournemouth.

It is unknown whether the 18-year-old Serbian youth international, born in Germany, is willing to leave AC Milan without first-team experience. Fulham may not be an appealing location without European football.
