These two teams will play their third and final regular-season game. Toronto won the first game 7-3 and the Rangers the second 5-2.

I hope the Leafs win the tiebreaker.

On March 4, the Leafs will play the Boston Bruins, another original-six adversary. A Leafs win over the Bruins might boost their Atlantic Division standings.

March Toronto Maple Leafs Outlook
The next two games are at home against the Buffalo Sabres on March 6 and away against the Boston Bruins on March 7.

NHL trading deadline is March 8.

Teams have until 3:00 pm Eastern Time to make transactions. It will be intriguing to watch what Leafs general manager Brad Treliving does to enhance the Leafs.

After the deadline, the Leafs will be in Montreal to play the Canadiens on March 9th, followed by four days off. The days off could be beneficial for any new Leafs players to get a few practices in with their new squad.

Once their short vacation, the Leafs will be on the road to play the Philadelphia Flyers on March 14th. The Leafs will be at home on March 16th to welcome the Carolina Hurricanes, and will be wearing their yearly St. Pats clothes.

The last time the Leafs wore the St. Pats uniforms was on March 17th last season, and that game was also against the Hurricanes, a 5-2 Leafs triumph. Let’s hope history will repeat itself.

The Leafs will then play two sets of back-to-back games. The opening set will be on March 19th (Flyers) and 20th (Washington Capitals). Next, the Leafs will host the Edmonton Oilers on March 23rd before playing at Carolina on March 24th against the Hurricanes.

The Leafs will then return home to meet the New Jersey Devils on March 26th and the Capitals on March 28th. March will end with an away game in Buffalo against the Sabres on March 30th.

With the NHL season continuing to wind down as clubs fight for playoff position, the Leafs will need a great month in March. The Leafs have 14 games in March, with a nice balance of seven games at home and seven on the road. I think the Leafs will need to win at least ten games for it to be a good month. My guess will be 10-3-1 for 21 points.
