After praising Casey Stoner and expressing appreciation for the former MotoGP world champion, Luca Marini emphasised the Australian’s speed, who was present at Valentino Rossi’s Ranch in November.
The current Honda driver, for whom Stoner won a premier class title, recalls the pace that #27 demonstrated, as stated by Motosan: ‘I didn’t ride with him in the last exit, when he was fast; I only did a few laps with him at the beginning to show him the track and how to ride.’
However, Stoner shown a high learning capacity and was extremely fast, despite the fact that he did not have the best bike for the job: ‘He was crazy fast. He had a two-stroke bike, which was perhaps not the best for speed at the VR46 Motor Ranch, but he was able to do a really excellent lap for the first time. I think he should be quite satisfied; he did an excellent job.
Stoner was invited to Rossi’s ranch after attending EICMA in Milan.
