A 'Sunday Red' logo is seemingly visible on the glove

Tiger Woods appears to have verified the identities of his new sponsors by posting a photo on social media that mistakenly includes their logo.

Woods, 48, and Nike ended their 27-year collaboration earlier this year, when his final contract with the American sportswear manufacturer expired. More than a month later, the 15-time major champion has not announced a new endorsement contract.

That will have to change when Woods returns to competitive golf next week at the Genesis Invitational, which he will host at the Riviera Golf Course in Los Angeles on behalf of the Tiger Woods Foundation. The long-time world number one is also teasing an announcement on February 12, the day before the tournament’s opening round.

“The vision remains the same,” he wrote Tuesday on X, formerly known as Twitter, along with the date. The attached photo showed a close-up of Woods’ left eye beneath the brow of a black cap, with light shining on his brown iris. On Saturday, he shared a similar cryptic post.

The caption reads, “A new day rises,” as Woods looks down to the earth while wearing another black cap in the following shot. But this time, the photo is a three-quarter length headshot of him dressed in a red unbranded polo shirt and dark slacks.

Also visible is the top of a golf club carried in his gloved right hand. A spotlight focuses on the white glove with black accents.

A closer look reveals what looks to be a jumping tiger represented in TaylorMade’s ‘Sunday Red’ trademarks, trademarked last month. In the center of a separate panel atop the glove, what appears to be the tiger’s rear legs from the emblem is shown in black.

However, the location of his hand in the photograph obscures the remainder of the glove. Despite the lack of definitive confirmation, it is the clearest indication that ‘Sunday Red’ will be Woods’ apparel line, which will launch at the Genesis next week.

The moniker is derived from the red attire that Woods is well-known for wearing during Sunday final rounds. He also has a six-year relationship with TaylorMade, having used the brand’s clubs for the past six years after Nike discontinued supplying equipment.

The most notable of Woods’ teasers was the first time he posted on X since announcing his departure from Nike. “Over 27 years ago, I was fortunate to start a partnership with one of the most iconic brands in the world,” he wrote in a blog post.

“The days after have been filled with so many fantastic moments. [Former Nike CEO] Phil Knight’s passion and vision brought this Nike and Nike Golf alliance together, and I’d like to thank him personally, as well as the Nike employees and fantastic athletes I’ve had the privilege of working with along the way.

“People will inquire whether there is more chapter. “Yes, there will be another chapter.”
