Sad: Titans defense loses key linebacker to season….

Linebacker Jack Gibbens, one of the bright lights in this losing season, suffered a lower leg injury on Sunday that will sideline him for the remainder of the season, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.

“Titans linebacker Jack Gibbens is undergoing surgery today to repair a lower leg injury suffered Sunday, per source,” Fowler posted on X, formerly Twitter. “He faces a four-month recovery.”

Gibbens has been an effective Titans player over his three NFL seasons, including this one. The Titans defense has outperformed expectations and Tennessee’s record. Gibbens is presently the Titans’ fourth-leading tackler with 44 stops this season, and he also has two tackles for loss.

Without Gibbens in the lineup, the Titans will face an even more difficult challenge in winning games than they had before. They don’t have many options at linebacker after Kenneth Murray’s difficulties and the decision to trade Ernest Jones IV in the middle of the season.
