Bala brought a total of 15 years of coaching experience, including spells with the Oakland Raiders, Southern Utah, Ottawa University of Arizona, Palomar College, and Snow Junior College, to the position that former Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban filled in February of last year. In the past, he worked as a defensive coordinator at Palomar and Southern Utah.
We are thrilled to have Robert join our staff. Robert is a bright young coach who has shown himself at all levels of college football,” Saban remarked upon Bala’s hiring. “He’s a seasoned professional with a track record of developing football players off the field as well as on it. He is a very skilled educator, a superb recruiter, and a passionate and enthusiastic coach.
