In their franchise history, the Detroit Lions hope to make it to the NFC title game twice. They have the Tampa Bay Buccaneers standing in their way. The media-only portion of Thursday’s practice did not feature wide receiver Kalif Raymond. Frank Ragnow, center, who wasn’t included in the walkthrough on Wednesday, came back to practice. Julian Okwara was waived, and outside linebacker James Houston was formally activated.

From their Week 6 meeting, the Lions and Buccaneers are now two distinct teams. Brian Branch, the nickel cornerback, was not involved in the game. The rookie defender is back in action this Sunday and is anticipated to contribute significantly to the match. “Listen, we greatly like Will, but we also recognize the value that Branch provides to the table. The problem is, he’s gritted, tough, and really knowledgeable,” Glenn clarified. “He performs admirably in that crucial area of knowing precisely how to blend in to position himself to go make plays.”

Despite missing two games earlier in the season, Branch had a successful debut season. He racked up 74 tackles, seven tackles for loss, and three interceptions in 15 games.

Glenn is interested in seeing what the youngster can do in front of the big crowd, especially with the game on Sunday having more intensity. “We’re looking forward to him being out there this game and he’s looking forward to being out there this game because he hates missing games and he wants to play against this team because of the nature of this game and who they have,” Glenn stated. “Therefore, he’s also got some pretty damn good receiver coverage. He ran this whatever time at the combine, listen to that. You never notice that when you watch him cover men because he’s so sticky.”
