The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the New Orleans Saints 15–12 in a game that went very differently than anyone had anticipated. There was some animosity between the two sides as a result of the fierce fight.

That was made clear when Jalen Carter, an Eagles defensive tackle, was seen on camera berating Tyrann Mathieu and Marshon Lattimore toward the end of the game. The players’ bitter sentiments were evident in their post-game remarks. Mathieu expressed his thoughts about the Eagles and expressed his want to face them again, while C.J. Gardner-Johnson had a lot to say negatively about the Saints.

The Saints are defending themselves days after Gardner-Johnson and Eagles supporters claimed that New Orleans was a dishonest football team. Many fans and Gardner-Johnson are disputing whether or not Khristian Boyd’s hit, which caused DeVonta Smith to leave the game with a concussion, was a dirty hit. According to Gardner-Johnson, it was the dirtiest football-related sight he had ever seen.

The fact that Trevor Penning blocked cornerback Darius Slay far into the sideline after the ball carrier had already gone out of bounds—a play that resulted in Slay’s injury—was also seen negatively by Philadelphia supporters. In addition, defensive end Payton Turner is accused of spitting on Smith while he was on the ground. However, Turner has previously strongly denied ever doing anything along those lines. Boyd has also wished Smith luck and stated that he would never want to intentionally harm a player.
