Hamilton left furious with Mercedes' decision at the Singapore Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton finished sixth in the Singapore Grand Prix, despite starting third on the grid. The Mercedes driver believes that the blame lies with the engineers’ strategy for this race.

He began the race on the softs, while his competitors on the grid began on the mediums, resulting in Hamilton’s early pit lane run and a lack of advantage over the other drivers in the last lap. After the race, Hamilton expressed his disappointment with the decision:

‘They had already stated the night before that they wanted to separate the automobiles, which puzzled me. I understand if George Russell performed well in qualifiers and I did not advance to Q3, but we were so close that it didn’t make sense to me.

I tried as hard as I could to drive on the medium, but the crew kept proposing I start on the soft, and by the time they changed tyres, everyone was already on the medium. I was really mad. Hamilton is quoted in Sport Bible.
