Done Deal: Clemson Have received an award and their back in championship now …

Following a disastrous Week 1 loss to Georgia, Clemson is back in the hunt for a championship after defeating North Carolina State 59-35 on Saturday. The Tigers improved to 2-1 on the year and have a chance to qualify for the 12-team College Football Playoff this season. The Tigers scored 28 points in the first quarter and led 45-7 at the half, returning to their locker room after defeating Appalachian State 56-13 the previous week. This is the first time since Dabo Swinney took over as head coach of the university in 2009 that Clemson has scored at least 45 points in the first half of back-to-back games.

Tigers quarterback Cade Klubnik ran for 70 yards and another touchdown on Saturday in addition to completing 67% of his throws for 207 yards and three touchdowns. T.J. Parker, a defensive end for Clemson, had a fantastic game on the field, recording five tackles (two for a loss), two sacks, and one forced fumble. Near the end of the third quarter, Tigers cornerback Ashton Hampton also intercepted a ball, returning it 53 yards for Clemson’s game-winning touchdown. Given how many people were disappointed in the squad following their 31-point loss to Georgia in their 2024 season opener, Clemson must be feeling pretty good about their victory on Saturday.
