The Texas Longhorns’ non-conference schedule concludes Saturday night at home against UL Monroe. Texas passed through Colorado State, Michigan, and UTSA with easy ease.

Arch Manning will start in place of injured Quinn Ewers. Manning accounted for five touchdowns in relief against UTSA.

In the preseason, ULM was predicted to be one of the worst teams in FBS this season. However, the Warhawks are 2-0 and outscored their opponents 62-20.

Jamie Gatlin predicts Arch Manning will start for the first time in college against LMU on Saturday. Following Quinn Ewers’ injury, the dynamic freshman dominated last week against UTSA. Because of their great offensive, the Longhorns will be heavy favorites in this game. This should be a game that Texas wins.

Trey Luerssen predicts that this situation will escalate quickly. Arch Manning, who is making his debut start, may feel nervous. It’s a different mentality than coming off the bench. Even if Texas gets off to a rocky start, their skill is too much for the Warhawks to handle. I don’t believe there will be a shutdown. ULM’s offense has been fairly effective thus far, but against considerably weaker opponents.

Final score: Texas 56, LMU 7.
