Silverbelly Whiskey announced on Monday that it has issued its first limited single-barrel release, with six barrels handpicked by the brand’s originator, country music performer Alan Jackson. The five-and-a-half-year Tennessee Bourbon Whiskey is 115 proof and was distilled, bottled, and matured in Tennessee.

“We are truly thrilled to offer our first limited-time single barrel release out into the world,” said Silverbelly Whiskey CEO Robbie Goldsmith in a statement. “We know how big of a hit this will be not only within the Tennessee whiskey community but more broadly across the country and look forward to offering our consumers the opportunity to enjoy something truly unique, made for a good time.”

Silverbelly Whiskey has said that the release will be “available by request” in over 15 markets, 47 states, and the United Kingdom. The whiskey is offered at $65.99 on the brand’s website.

On Silverbelly’s social media, the brand announced that only 420 bottles are available for distribution, urging Jackson and whiskey aficionados to “get them while you can!”

Silverbelly defined the whiskey’s flavor profile on Instagram as “the perfect combination of sweet and heat, made for a Good Time.”

This limited release comes after Jackson’s third batch of Silverbelly. The whiskey was named “Chasin’ That Neon Rainbow,” after the fourth hit from Jackson’s debut album, “Here in the Real World.” The whiskey was released in March 2023.

Jackson’s single barrel release marks a significant departure from prior Silverbelly releases, which averaged 91 proof. If you want to know what we think of them, check out our review here.

About Alan Jackson
Jackson was born in 1958 in Newnan, Georgia. In 1990, he relocated to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue a career in country music, recording his debut album, “Here in the Real World,” that same year. According to Encyclopedia Britannica, Jackson gravitated toward “traditional country” music, and the album deviated from the decade’s country-pop trend.

In 2001, Jackson wrote a song called “Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)” to memorialize the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The song received the “Song of the Year” award from the Country Music Association (CMA) and the Academy of Country Music.

Jackson received a Grammy Award in 2011 for his collaboration with the Zac Brown Band on “As She’s Walking Away” in 2010.

He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2017.
