“Follow me, baby” . Those of you who didn’t make the trip to Brazil and instead watched the Philadelphia Eagles defeat the Green Bay Packers on Peacock heard Dallas Goedert’s counsel, if you were listening.
That’s what Philadelphia’s TE1 told Saquon Barkley after the former Nittany Lions’ hat trick. You have to adore 4K broadcasts with all of the close-ups and camera angles.
What we saw from Saquon Barkley was the best debut by an Eagles player since the NFL’s merger in the 1960s. No disrespect is intended for Terrell Owens’ three touchdowns in 2004, but Saquon was simply amazing. We’re also grateful to the tight end, who helped clear the way for his third touchdown of the evening.
Dallas Goedert, an Eagles star, remains one of the NFL’s finest dual threats at tight end.

Reed Blankenship’s second-half interception shifted the momentum and tide in this game. That set up Philly to score. Saquon kept churning the legs, but having a teammate like Dallas lead the way is always beneficial.
Some tight ends can block but cannot catch. Some are excellent receivers who cannot block. Dallas Goedert is one of the few NFL players that can do both with exceptional skill.
Now, Goedert will not always be the focal point of the offensive passing attack. Sharing the field alongside Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, AJ Brown, and DeVonta Smith contributes significantly to this. There is only one football, thus Dallas was not the focal point of the offense in Week 1.
He had a good night, though. He caught four of five targets for 31 receiving yards, and all of the Eagles offense’s best players will have games where they are the heroes.
Goedert’s time is approaching. He’s too skilled to overlook, and we anticipate a healthy season. We expect him to have his first 1,000-yard season in this dynamic scheme.
