The offensive line for Alabama football battled throughout the team’s 42-16 victory over South Florida on Saturday. Due to a shoulder injury that kept starting left lineman Kadyn Proctor out of the game, the Crimson Tide assembled the squad piecemeal.
Tyler Booker, the left guard, was transferred to the outside by Kalen DeBoer and crew to take his place. The void inside of him was filled by Geno VanDeMark.
Regarding Booker’s performance on Saturday, DeBoer remarked, “I think wherever he’s at, we’re really good.” Given how many snaps he’s taken against guards in his career, I’m sure he’ll study it and pick up a lot of knowledge about playing tackle. Didn’t give him any thought at all.
UA had a two-point lead in the fourth quarter of the game before pulling away late, and much of Alabama’s problems stemmed from their offensive line. The Crimson Tide made a lot of careless errors, such as a lot of holding calls that prevented touchdowns.
Jalen Milroe, the quarterback, was often under pressure. Nevertheless, he complimented his fellow Alabama captain’s performance after the game.
Milroe remarked, “He’s just a positive light to all of the guys on offense.” “During the offseason, he developed his leadership skills to a great extent, which carried over into the season.” I’m happy for him because of his character and his excellence as a colleague. I simply like having him on my squad.
DeBoer seemed upbeat about Proctor’s chances of being back in time for Saturday’s game against Wisconsin. Additionally, Elijah Pritchett, who UA tried to rest for the majority of the USF game due to a minor ailment, may get increased playing time for the Crimson Tide.
He complimented Booker’s effort in the interim.
DeBoer remarked, “Book definitely packs a punch and impact wherever he’s at.” “On the inside, it’s just about pushing off the line of scrimmage, run blocking, and pocket solidity. It is powerful. We weren’t really concerned about the one-on-one rush when he was outside today.”
On Saturday, the Crimson Tide will play again in Madison. The game will be broadcast on FOX and is set to begin at 11 a.m. CT.
