Staff members of the Mile High Report offer their weekly match between the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks score projections.

Returning here at Mile High Report is another season of score prediction. Though we have all quickly become bo-lievers in the Denver Broncos and only any negative outcomes in games will start to break the attitude, expect the optimism to once more be Rocky Mountain high here.

Bo Nix is a rookie starting against a respectable Seattle Seahawks squad in front of a highly hostile audience, so we should moderate those expectations. Whether we win or lose, I believe most of us want to see the rook make wise decisions and show efficiency along with a strong run game and defense.

Regarding score projections, our staff’s agreed upon final score is a 26-19 Broncos road victory over the Seahawks. I wouldn’t have it any other way; always with the hope in Week 1.

Here is our personal view of things as they are:

Broncos Twenty, Seahawks sixteen
The Broncos score one more red zone touchdown than Seattle in a close game, and they eck out a hard road victory to begin the season. The Broncos’ interior defensive line, which was a bit of a weakness last season but suddenly a force to be reckoned with. Bo Nix has a good, if mediocre, stat line whereas Jaleel McLaughlin and Javonte Williams primarily carry the offense with a decent 1-2 punch. Surely, 1-0 would feel great. – Tim Lynch

Denver 27, Seahawks 14
Bo Nix lacks the outstanding performance, but his consistency is very remarkable. Wearing Seattle down, he marches his squad mercilessly down the field. The defense gets to play with a lead, something they do seldom. They enjoy this quite a bit. Mike DeCicco

Starting off on the road against the Seattle Seahawks, the Bo Nix Era begins. With Leonard Williams, Jarran Reed, Dre’ Mont Jones, Jonathan Hankins, and Byron Murphy II on their defensive line—quality players—this will be a big test for the Broncos’ offensive line and Nix. A key turning point in this game will be how well the Broncos’ offensive line performs and Nix handles pressure. Starting the season on the right foot, the Broncos have me winning this one. Though there will be some potholes on the road, this game reads like a win. This season, the Broncos will surprise some people, and they will win right here. Bo Nix will rely largely on the run game and follow with somewhat rapid short passes. Sean Payton will keep the clock under control; the Bo Nix era will be off and running with a few touchdowns and field goals. Adam Malnati –

Broncos 25, Seahawks 20
To be honest, none of the fan bases really know what these two clubs are. This will be the first chance for them to present what they are to the public under much different conditions than they had last season. Based on numbers I hit on a dart board, this forecast is based on reality; anyone claiming they have a pulse on what Denver and Seattle will do Week 1 is just fantasy. sadnessaraine

While the defense generates a few mistakes and a late stop to secure the major road victory, Nix throws two touchdowns. The good news is Payton and Nix will know the situation and not depend on Wil Lutz to convert a 64-yard , goal to win the game. The Nix age begins with a major road victory. – Ian St. Clair

Broncos31, Seahawks 17
Leading the Broncos to an opening week triumph and carrying on the success we observed during the preseason is Bo Nix. The rookie quarterback throws for 2 touchdowns and for 250+ yards in a demanding surroundings. The Broncos’ running game will be constant and a game-changing factor here. In this one Jaleel McLaughlin will perform as a runner and receiver.

The Broncos pass rush will follow Geno Smith all game and force him to toss two INTs. To win over Broncos Country, Ja’Quan McMillion will get one and Brandon Johnson will get another.

Although the Seahawks have had the Broncos number in recent years, this game will at last help the Broncos to turn the tide. Scott Payne

Seahawks 23, Broncos 27
Though it will be a close game, there is no chance this turns out like their first Week 1 game from a few years back. With their front seven and exotic and common blitzing technique from that new head coach Mike Macdonald imported from Baltimore, the Seahawks definitely represent a serious threat; but, the Payton and Denver offensive line have had all offseason to ready for it. Bo Nix’s ability to make pre-snap readings and quickly release the ball from his hands will be quite beneficial on Sunday as long as he can get the run game started. ross Allen
