The New Orleans Saints claimed Kene Nwangwu off waivers one day, but the following day he was back on the waiver wire.
With a failed physical designation, Nwangwu will be waived by the Saints, according to coach Dennis Allen’s statement on Thursday.
Nwangwu played his first three seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, where he never made a name for himself as a running back but developed into one of the league’s best kick returners.
During his tenure with the Vikings, he returned three kicks for touchdowns and was named to the second team of the All-Pro team in his second season.
