Alejo Veliz made an impact on his Espanyol debut

Time is starting to run out for clubs when it comes to finalising their summer transfer business. Tottenham and their Premier League rivals have until 11pm on Friday, August 30 to get deals over the line before the market closes until January.

It has been a very productive window for the club so far with plenty of incomings and outgoings taking place at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Supporters will be hoping that the Lilywhites can bring in another fresh face or two before the deadline in order to give Ange Postecoglou the best possible squad to attack the first half of the 2024/25 season.

It could be a busy few days in north London when it comes to outgoings as Spurs still have a handful of players on the books who could head elsewhere. Permanent deals for a couple of players need to happen, with some of Tottenham’s younger players also requiring loan moves to help their development and give them more experience of playing senior football on a regular basis.

In the latest episode of their podcast Gold & Guest Talk Tottenham, our Spurs correspondents Alasdair Gold and Rob Guest discuss what could happen in the final days of the transfer window ahead of next Friday’s deadline. As Spurs have signed off a number of loan deals already, the pair also reflect on Jamie Donley’s excellent start to his Leyton Orient loan spell and the challenge facing Dane Scarlett.
