Caitlin Clark, WNBA’s emerging star, has received her first pair of Nike Kobe 5 Proto PEs. The Indiana Fever guard debuted her PEs during a practice, which pay homage to both her WNBA franchise and the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Arriving in a bold yellow and black color palette, the sneaker pays homage to both teams she works with, with mostly black and yellow details throughout. The midsole has a progressive black to yellow gradient, while the tongue features the Black Mamba emblem and the heel bears the late Kobe Bryant’s signature. The shoe, which sits on a white midsole, holds enormous significance for Clark as she plans her future in the league and beyond. It is unclear whether this colorway, or a variation on it, will be released in the future. Clark currently has a one-for-one record. Clark is already in her first season with the Indiana Fever. The 2024 WNBA season concludes in mid-September.
