Aaron Judge in the come on do something meme while pointing the stick at the Yankees logo

The MLB trade deadline is approaching, and as a result, teams are feeling increased pressure to add the final touches to rosters they hope will be sufficient for a World Series victory in October. Despite coming off a 14-4 victory against the mighty Philadelphia Phillies, Aaron Judge hopes the New York Yankees make a few more changes to strengthen their squad.

Speaking to reporters after their electrifying win over the team with the best record in the MLB at the moment, Judge stated that he is seeing other teams put their best foot forward as the trade deadline approaches, and that he hopes to see his Yankees do the same.

“Other teams are making moves, so perhaps we will too. “We’ll see,” Judge replied, smiling, according to NJ.com’s Max Goodman.

The Yankees have already made a big trade, acquiring Jazz Chisholm Jr. from the struggling Miami Marlins. But New York cannot afford to rest on its laurels. With their contending colleagues preparing for the stretch run and the Yankees not playing their best baseball in the last month or two, Aaron Judge understands that bringing in another impact player may go a long way toward their chances of challenging for the World Series trophy.

Will the Yankees make further transactions before the deadline?

MLB rumors: Yankees’ Nestor Cortes unexpectedly surfaces as a trade candidate

Gleyber Torres’ frank reaction to a prospective position change following Jazz Chisholm Jr.’s trade (17h).
The purchase of Jazz Chisholm Jr. is already a significant move. Chisholm is a skilled middle infielder and outfielder who will be under team control for two more seasons after 2024. On Monday night, the 26-year-old center fielder demonstrated why the Yankees acquired him, going 2-4 with two home runs and three RBIs in the Yankees’ rout of the Phillies.

However, Aaron Judge is correct in stating that the Yankees may need to make further deals to bolster the rest of the squad. Their bullpen, in particular, has been shaky for the past month or two. They continue to pursue one of the most sought-after relievers on the market, Chisholm’s former colleague Tanner Scott, who would provide them with extra late-game protection. They are also apparently looking into Peter Fairbanks and Kyle Finnegan from the Tampa Bay Rays and Washington Nationals, respectively.

Their starting pitching staff hasn’t been doing well recently. The Yankees are attempting to address this by entering into trade talks with a few starting pitchers, the most noteworthy of which is Jack Flaherty.
