Everton have been pretty busy in the summer transfer window, with two new arrivals on board.

The Toffees have reinforced their ranks by recruiting Iliman Ndiaye and Tim Iroegbunam, yet they have also sold three players including Amadou Onana.

Now, it looks as though a third deal could be on the horizon, with Fabrizio Romano stating “here we go, soon” on a player who has been in talks with Everton.

Everton closing in on Jesper Lindstrom deal

Romano, going to X, revealed Everton are closing in on the signing of Jesper Lindstrom from Napoli.

The transfer insider says the Toffees are on the approach of finalizing an initial loan deal of €3million (£2.5million), combined with a €22million (£18.5million) option to buy.

Final details are being negotiated between all the key parties, and it shouldn’t be long before agreement is achieved and the “here we go” arrives, added Romano.

Lindstrom is an offensive midfielder who can also play on both wings and has vast experience at the top level.

The 24-year-old is presently playing for Serie A team Napoli, and also represents Denmark internationally, having 16 caps under his belt.

Lindstrom earned his big break in 2021 when he signed Eintracht Frankfurt from Brondby, going on to join Napoli two years later.

Although things haven’t worked out for Lindstrom at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, a fresh start could potentially be on the cards for Lindstrom.

Should Sean Dyche get the best out of him, he may undoubtedly return to the standards he reached at Frankfurt, with 28 goal contributions from 80 matches.

Lindstrom has defined his playing as follows, as per the Bundesliga website: “In general I like to play up front but can also play on the wings.

“I’ve got a strong shot on me from distance and I like to link up play in the penalty area.”

Former Frankfurt colleague Kevin Trapp said of Lindstrom: “He’s an outstanding footballer and has very good technique.”
