Vice-chairman Tan Kesler has left Hull City before the squad resumes Championship play against Sunderland at the MKM Stadium on Sunday. Kesler was the Turkish businessman’s right-hand guy when he took over Acun Ilicali in 2022. He was eventually named vice-chairman of Ilicali, but his original role was director of football. Since the takeover, Kesler has been heavily involved in the team’s daily operations and transfer efforts since being appointed to the EFL board earlier this year. However, Kesler will be leaving the club immediately by mutual consent, the team confirmed Thursday morning.

The 45-year-old, who was in Antalya with the first team during their warm weather training camp last week, was formerly a basketball player who later became the president of HTK Sports and Media, a company that represented football players worldwide, and an international football consultant for the Turkish FA. Kesler, who was born in Adana, previously worked as a registered agent for the football agency Wassermann.
