Carmelo Anthony

Former New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony’s son Kiyan reportedly claimed that the two would lose against LeBron James and his son Bronny by 11 points, to which the elder Anthony responded in joke.

The younger Anthony has yet to play a single college basketball game, as he is still in high school. The 17-year-old attends Long Island Lutheran Middle & High School.

However, the child appears to be on track to play for a premier collegiate school in the near future. He has already received offers from Syracuse University, the University of Memphis, Florida State University, and the University of Dayton.

The elder Anthony, on the other hand, spent 19 seasons in the NBA with six different clubs, earning 10 All-Star appearances and six All-NBA selections. As the younger Anthony mentioned, the 40-year-old has been out of the league since playing 69 games for the Los Angeles Lakers during the 2021-22 regular season.

While neither the younger nor senior Anthony are currently playing in the NBA, both the younger and elder James are members of the Lakers organization.

Beginning with the younger James, the Lakers drafted him with the 55th overall choice in the 2024 NBA Draft. In his first Summer League game with Los Angeles earlier this month, he scored four points on 2-of-9 shooting against the Sacramento Kings.

The elder James, who, like the elder Anthony, was picked in the 2003 NBA Draft, is still one of the NBA’s finest players at 39 years old. In 71 games with the Lakers during the 2023-24 regular season, he averaged 25.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 8.3 assists.

Given that the younger and elder James play in the sport’s most talented leagues, but the younger and elder Anthony do not, it’s logical that the younger Anthony does not believe his hypothetical team will win a game to 11.
