Two blank player outlines in front of Lakers logo

The Los Angeles Lakers have made many headline-grabbing decisions, including re-signing LeBron James, hiring JJ Redick as new head coach, and drafting Bronny James. Aside from that, L.A. has been relatively calm, though this might change shortly.

In his most recent YouTube video, The Athletic’s Jovan Buha stated that the Lakers are interested in either Gary Trent Jr. or Spencer Dinwiddie for their taxpayer mid-level exception. He also claimed that the Lakers may utilize the more than $5 million MLE to sign a big man, but this would necessitate trading Christian Wood or Jaxson Hayes, the team’s current backup big men.

“As I’ve also said before on here, I’ve heard Christian Wood and Cam Reddish would be the two most likely guys to be salary dumped,” claimed Buha. “Now, maybe a team pushes for Jaxson Hayes, and in the end, the Lakers decide there isn’t much of a difference between Hayes and Wood.” However, my sense is that the Lakers would prefer to keep Hayes over Wood and Reddish.”
