This season has been difficult for the Green Bay Packers, particularly because starting quarterback Jordan Love is dealing with a groin issue that has raised questions about his availability. Reporter Rob Demovsky of the Packers claims that Love’s injury is mild, raising the possibility that he could play in this week’s game against the Detroit Lions. If unable to play, the date coincides well with the Packers’ Week 10 bye, indicating that any possible absence could be short.
But there is a surprising bright side to Love’s sporadic absences. Malik Willis, a backup quarterback who was acquired in a trade shortly before the season started, has taken advantage of his chances to excel. The coaching staff at the Packers has been greatly impressed by Willis’ performances, both early in the season and after Love’s latest injured exit.
“Willis’s abilities have left the Packers coaches in awe,” according to ESPN’s Dan Graziano. This accolade highlights Willis’ skill and the leadership of offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich and head coach Matt LaFleur.
The Packers are pleased with Malik Willis’s performance thus far. During pregame warmups at Nissan Stadium, the Green Bay Packers quarterbacks Jordan Love (10) and Malik Willis (2) faced the Tennessee Titans.

Willis’ ability to fill in with ease says a lot about his readiness and flexibility, two qualities the Packers have always admired in quarterbacks. His performance has been evidence of Green Bay’s strong coaching staff, which consistently produces quarterbacks with the ability to perform well under duress, regardless of their level of experience.
