Milwaukee –— Christian Yelich had five of Milwaukee’s 23 hits and five RBIs, and the Brewers cruised to a 12-5 win over the big league’s poorest Chicago White Sox on Friday night.

Brice Turang, William Contreras, and Sal Frelick all had three hits for the Brewers, who lead the NL Central and have won four of their last five games. Yelich doubled twice.

The White Sox have dropped a season-high nine consecutive games and 13 of 14, dropping to 15-43. Michael Soroka fell to 0-6 after allowing three runs in one inning of relief.

The game had four lead changes in the first 4 1/2 innings until the Brewers, who trailed 5-4, blew it open with a six-run seventh.

After Turang’s RBI single knotted the game, Contreras singled off right-hander John Brebbia, giving the Brewers a 6-5 lead. Yelich quickly followed with a two-run double.

Jake Bauers hit an RBI single off Brebbia, and Frelick followed with an RBI double off Jared Shuster.

With Milwaukee up 1-0, Chicago established a 3-1 lead in the third inning against Milwaukee starter Tobias Myers. Paul DeJong hit his team-leading seventh home run, snapping a 1-for-13 streak, and Corey Julks added a two-run double.

Milwaukee seized a 4-3 lead in the fourth inning, scoring three runs off Chicago starter Erick Fedde, two of which came on Yelich’s single.

Fedde, who threw 6 1/3 scoreless innings in his previous start against Baltimore, gave up four runs in five innings. Myers gave up five runs over 4 1/3 innings.

Enoli Paredes (1-0) got the win in relief.

TRAINERS’ ROOM

White Sox have recalled INF Lenyn Sosa from Triple-A Charlotte. Bryan Ramos, an infielder, was optioned to Charlotte.

Brewers: Rhys Hoskins, 1B, was activated from the injured list. Owen Miller, an infielder/outfielder, was optioned to Triple-A Nashville.
